The Beacon beckons the Youth

9 November, the birth date of Dr Allama Iqbal, Poet of the East, is a solemn day that calls for deep introspection. While we see the usual messages by luminaries released on such occasions, we need to do much more to truly benefit from the thoughts and exhortations of an outstanding philosopher who has left a profound imprint on history. Quaid e Azm Muhammad Ali Jinnah said of Iqbal, “Iqbal was undoubtedly one of the greatest poets, philosophers and seers of humanity of all times. He took a prominent part in the politics of the country and in the intellectual and cultural reconstruction of the Islamic world. His contribution to literature and thought of the world will live forever.”

On this day a special talk on Iqbaliat was arranged at Al Mustafa Education Trust. Prof Dr Qamar Iqbal, a leading authority on the works of Allama Iqbal, spoke about the great philosopher’s ideas, especially his role in the creation of Pakistan and his concern for youth. He highlighted the poet philosopher’s concern and efforts for generating vitality in the nation and emphasized the aspects that needed special attention: –

  • Focus on moral uplifting of youth by creating awareness of teachings and lessons from own history
  • The critical and vital need of valuing indigenous potential
  • The importance of positivity in thought and action
  • The importance of guiding our youth for correct use of digital media and making them aware of the seriously debilitating and addicting effects of indulgence in its frivolous use

Al Mujtaba Education Trust extends greetings to all our students, donors, well-wishers and all Pakistanis on this occasion. We hope and pray for Allah’s helps to fully benefit from the treasures of knowledge and guidance embedded in our history.
